Acoustic Guitar Strap Information
If you're someone that likes playing the guitar standing up then you're going to need an acoustic guitar strap to hold it up. Many people don't think about this when they're out to purchase a regular guitar. You're more concerned about the sound and quality you're going to get, rather than something as trivial as a guitar strap. What you might not realize is that some guitars aren't designed with the strap in mind. In Spain, it is tradition to play the guitar while sitting down and you don't need a strap for that. I'm personally not interested in stuff like that, but it is available to those that like it. It also has a pretty good length on it, so you can easily customize it to the perfect position that you want when playing. Other than that it is a good all around strap. It'll last forever because it is made of leather. I've only heard good things from people that have used it and you should get pretty good use out of it too. I have a link that you can take a peek at it. You can get a rough idea if this is something that you want, but this is definitely the best strap that I've seen.

I have a picture to the right of a different kind of button system. It wraps around the top of the guitar, so you don't actually have to do any drilling or anything like that. It's the safest way to go and it has the least amount of question marks. There is no way for you to cause any damage. The best strap that I've come across is known as the Levy's Leathers PM1-BLK 2.5-inch leather acoustic/Dobro guitar strap. It is in the color black and it is high quality. It's something that is going to last a very long time. I think the most important thing you'll appreciate about this particular strap is that it is 2.5 inches wide. This makes it much easier on the shoulder when you're holding the guitar for an extended period of time.
The way that a strap works is that it will snap on a button that is located on the guitar. What you might have noticed is that you only have one button to snap on to and that is it. This is a common problem for many people and if you want to add in a button then you're going to have to do some drilling into the actual wood. Personally, I don't really like to risk damaging my guitar over something as trivial as a button.
Another way to do this is with a lock and it is very sophisticated design made by a company called Planet Lock. It is a universal guitar strap that will fit on any guitar and it will lock into position. It's an incredibly simple thing. It locks in the strap until you decide to release the side pin. It's just that easy.
